HDFC Bank Ltd is a biggest Indian financial services company headquartered in Mumbai, India. The Housing Development Corporation Ltd (HDFC) Bank was incorporated in August 1994 by the name of 'HDFC Bank Limited'. HDFC Bank begins operations as a Scheduled Commercial Bank in January 1995. The HDFC Bank is the first kind to receive an in-principle approval from the RBI(Reserve Bank Of India) for the establishment of a bank in the private sector. The HDFC Bank at present has a network of over 2201 branches and 7110 ATM's spread over 996 cities across India. The HDFC Bank also has an overseas wholesale banking branch located in Bahrain, a branch in Hong Kong and two offices in UAE and Kenya. The Bank has two subsidiary companies, namely HDFC Securities Ltd and HDB Financial Services Ltd. The HDFC Bank has three primary business segments, namely banking, wholesale banking, and treasury. The retail banking serves retail customers through a branch network. This retail banking raises deposits from customers and makes loans and provides other services. The wholesale banking provides loans, non-enterprises. The Treasury provides net interest earnings on investments of the Bank. The Banks shares are listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange Limited and The National Stock Exchange of India Ltd.
